Valorization of state property resources in the area. Starting from an experiment on the Poveglia island, a bottom up path for the definition of population involvement tools and the evaluation of their impact.

PhD research abstract: "The valorization of the territory in Italy is a relevant and debated topic among citizens and institutions, and the redevelopment of these public spaces from a historical, social, cultural, environmental and economic point of view often translates into complex and unsatisfactory paths. This action research project aims, starting from a case study on the island of Poveglia, an island in the Venetian lagoon, at investigating citizens' perception on the valorization of the lagoon asset managed by the competent territorial agencies, and at measuring the impact resulting from the process of valorization and awareness towards these public goods. A mixed methodology will be used with quantitative and qualitative tools in order to bring out the objective and subjective needs, perceptions and expectations of the citizens towards the lagoon and the island being tested. Thanks to the picture that will emerge from the data collected, a participatory ‘bottom-up’ process will be launched to enhance the green section of the island which will involve citizens, and which will be supported by a multidisciplinary pool of experts in the field of environmental psychology, of psychometry, agro-forestry sciences and the approach to arts management and cultural policy."
