Maria Mori is a primary school teacher with extensive experience in in-service teacher training. Throughout her career, she has held the role of coordinating tutor for students enrolled in the Primary Education degree course at the Universities of Padua and Verona. This professional path has enabled her to deepen her understanding of the dynamics of teaching and training in both school and university settings.
She is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Human Sciences – 39th cycle, Education curriculum, with the aim of further refining her cultural and scientific training to enhance the quality of her interventions in the educational and training contexts in which she operates.
Her research focuses on the analysis of adolescent distress and its potential development into deviant behavior, including youth gang affiliation. The concept of “distress” is particularly broad, as it can be influenced by a wide range of social, psychological, and environmental factors. The relationship between distress and youth deviance is a highly relevant issue, as some young people tend to engage in deviant behaviors as a response to the discomfort they experience. Given the complex and multidimensional nature of this phenomenon, it is essential to identify effective prevention and intervention strategies for this age group. Indeed, a preventive approach is crucial to intercept and address young people's difficulties before they evolve into more serious manifestations.
