Curriculum

Leonardo Piasere achieved his PhD in Social and Historical Anthropology at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris;  he is currently a professor of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnography at Verona University.  He has conducted studies on epistemology and ethnographic hermeneutics, the anthropology of kinship and the history of anthropology.  He is an expert in the social anthropology of Roma and has conducted lengthy ethnographic and ethno-historical research on Roma and Sinti communities in Europe. He has directed and participated in numerous Italian and international research projects.  At Verona University he manages CREAa (the “Francesca Cappelletto” Centre for Ethnographic Research and Applied Anthropology). He edits three book series and is co-editor of the journal “Antropologia pubblica". For some years now, he has been conducting ethno-historical research in and on Tierra del Fuego.
