Curriculum

Marcella Milana is Associate professor of general and social education at the Departmen of Human Sciences, and since 2019, Honorary professor of adult education at the University of Nottinghma, School of Education (United Kingdom). She thinks of herself as an adult educator with a great passion in researching and writing about the politics, policy and governance of adult education – at local, national, regional and global levels, and from comparative perspectives.
Living, working and researching in three continents - North America (United States), Latin America (Argentina, Brazil), and Europe (Denmark, Italy) - has influenced her approach to researching adult and lifelong education and learning.
Moreover, her research interest and approach have been influenced by the changing nature of education policy (under neoliberalism), and the increasing complexity of education governance and Europeanization processes. These have prompt new questions around the contribution of adult education and lifelong learning for the promotion and inclusion of individuals and groups, and for the wellbeing of nations in contemporary societies.
