Curriculum

I am a researcher on the history of philosophy at the University of Verona, with a PNRR funded project on the theme "The search for the real ground of knowledge: Kant and the foundations of a philosophical project beyond German Idealism". I was professor at the Specialization in Intercultural Philosophy from the University of Passo Fundo (UPF) and worked as a Substitute Professor of History of Philosophy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). I have a Philosophy PhD by the University of São Paulo with an exchange period in Uni-Bonn from April 2016 to April 2017. Although German Idealism has been the focus of my work in my Master and PhD, I have always developed parallel research on non-European traditions, intercultural philosophy (being one of the grounding members and former director of ALAFI, the Latin-American Network of Intercultural Philosophy) and contemporary philosophy, and brought this together with my main area of research, by discussing, for instance, the dialectics of Hegel, Nishida and Nagarjuna and exploring the intercultural roots of German Idealism in Solomon Maimon. Most recently, I began tying my research both on Classical German Philosophy and on Intercultural Philosophy with the field of Philosophy as a Way of Life (PWL), which led me to become a member of the international FCT funded project “Mapping Philosophy as a Way of Life: An Ancient Model, a Contemporary Approach” and also one of the Scientific Secretaries of the International Society of Philosophy as a Way of Life. I am also one of the translators of the work of Byung-Chul Han into Brazilian Portuguese and have given several courses on him, as well as published papers on his thought.
