Hilda du Plooy, is a South African registered clinical psychologist with a PhD in Child Psychology. She is currently a PhD student in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Verona. Her PhD research project deals with student development and well-being, more specifically trying to center students’ voices regarding their experiences of dignity, inclusion, and well-being at the University. From a work and organizational perspective, the aim is to identify system-level strategies or best practices in Higher Education to promote dignity and inclusion for students under the broader framework of Social Justice and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Ultimately, the cumulation of the different studies hopes to result in the development and validation of a Student Dignity & Inclusion Index that can be used in Higher Education Institutions.
