Giulia Battistoni is currently Marie Skłodowska-Curie Post-Doctoral Global Fellow (project: "Collective Responsibility Towards Nature and Future Generations") and Teaching Assistant at the University of Verona. She was Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Storici (Naples) from November 2021 till October 2022; at the University of Verona from December 2019 till October 2021; at the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici (Naples) from January till November 2019. She completed her Ph.D. in May 2019 both at the University of Verona (supervisor: Prof. Giorgio Erle) and at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (supervisor: Prof. Klaus Vieweg; joint supervision) with a dissertation on the concepts of imputation and responsibility in Hegel’s action theory, with focus on the problem of unintentional agency. Her main research interests include Classical German Philosophy, in particular the question of responsibility and imputation and its implications in the moral and in the legal field; Philosophy of Medicine. She was visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at the Hegel-Archiv at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. She participated as an invited speaker in many international congresses and is author of different essays and articles. She was awarded the Sainati Prize (2020) and won the Prize of the Italian Society of Moral Philosophy for the "Best Published Essay" in 2019/2020.
