Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

The course aims to promote a reflection on the concept of deviance, its various meanings. Moreover, the course will try to explain the role of social politics and social istitutions. In particular, it will analyse the relationship between some social processes and the increase of people in jail.

Syllabus

Initially, the course will analyse the main sociological theories systems about deviance. Then, it will learn about some important forms of deviance, like use of drugs, prostitution, murder, economic crime and organised crime. Finally, we will try expand our remark towards the relationship exitsting between marginality, deviance and the ability of the social contest to produce social inclusion.
