Learning outcomes

In order to facilitate the whose professional occupation leads to work with or inside third sector organizations, the course intends to introduce students to the critical knowledge of:
1. economical and political fields of social actions at the beginning of XXIst century;
2. the main theories of third sector organizations.
It will be pursued the aim to define the specific identity of third sector, reflecting on cultural, organizational, economical and political characteristic of third sector organizations.

Il corso affronterà i seguenti temi:
• Rassegna delle principali teorie del terzo settore
• Individuazione della specificità relazionale del terzo settore
• Il terzo settore in Italia: legislazione, dimensioni, cultura e pratiche
• Terzo settore e culture del benessere
• Terzo settore e politiche sociali
• Terzo settore e bisogni formativi

Assessment methods and criteria

In order to facilitate students who attend the lessons, at the end of the course, is fixed a written exam (test of about 25 questions and 4 items per question) on the first part of the program (slides and the following book: Stanzani S., La specificità relazionale del terzo settore, Milano, Angeli).
Only students who reach a mark of at least 18/30 pass the test.
The mark obtained is valid till February 2011.
The test takes place only once a year.
The exam on the second part of the program is oral and takes place in the normal sessions of the academic calendar.
Who doesn’t sustain the written exam, presents the whole program at the oral exams that take place in the normal sessions.
