The course aims to explore, through a critical and reflexive approach, reading promotion strategies, activities and methods, drawing suggestion from children’s literature, in order to provide education professionals with the appropriate knowledge.
The course aims to explore, through a theoretical/critical and reflexive approach, the theories, resources, activities and methods/strategies for reading promotion in the field of children’s literature, in order to provide education professionals with the appropriate knowledge. (mia I versione)
The semester’s themes are:
the means of “cultural animation” and reading promotion; the purposes and objectives of “reading education” and “reading promotion”; projects, events, activities, methods for promotion the pleasure of reading fiction books for children and young readers; a critical reflection about the usual comprehension strategies (questions, discussions, exercises….) and interpretation of fiction books; international and italian programmes of reading promotion in early age (0- 6); activities of reading promotion in bookshops, libraries, cultural and recreation centres and toy and game centre; the use of creative writing for reading promotion: Gianni Rodari and his art of inventing stories.

Bibliography will be handed out later.
Not attending students : program will be provided for integration.
The exam consists of two-hours’ written text based on argumentative and reflexive open-questions.
