Learning outcomes

The participants of the course will be invited to reflect on what is the pedagogy of the mediation in relationship with the work of taking care of people, families and groups that belong to different languages and cultures.
Beginning from some experiences of meeting/encounter with the "different", the course proposes to understand the base dynamics of the cultural and ethnoclinic mediation devices in the educational, social and sanitary contexts.

Syllabus

The course will introduce the Mediation’s Pedagogy as approach that favours the creation, the management and the evaluation of care devices in the realities in which rise situations of conflict (for example will be analyzed experiences in the area of the immigration and the old age).
We will deepen the knowledge of mediation’s methods, that in the care job they are able to assume, keep in mind and to give mind of the different cultures. We will deepen the particular relationship that the mediation asks for analyzing: the cultural mediation, the ethnoclinic mediation, the respective devices, the job with the cultural mediators, the translation, the mediation, the composition of a "third place" that the mediation need both in the thought and in the practice.

At the general character lessons will be woven exercises in small groups and meetings of close examination in laboratory form. We will individualize one or more qualitative tools for the re-elaboration and the restitution of the course experience.
