Learning outcomes

Moral philosophy investigates about the truth of the principles that either have guided or guide, or should guide, human actions, both individually and socially. Through the analysis of topical stages in the history of ethics, the course aims to make the participants acquire a good degree of critical awareness about moral philosophy’s main subjects and problems of today.

Syllabus

The Ethics in the Age of Technics and the Ecological Question.
The course will focus on the radical change that the development of technics, as well as the dominant position it enjoys in the globalized world, brought about in ethics, most notably in the field of ecology. W will focus in particular on the ethical aspects of the present-day ecological crisis, trying to acquire a critical awareness of its theoretical background that will be also helpful when it comes to establish a solid ground for a practical dealing with it.

Assessment methods and criteria
