The course aims to provide a historical context on the construction of the welfare state, starting from the old regime up to the Bismarck’s reforms on 1883. We’ll analyze the origins of the Italian welfare state until Italian Fascism, placed in the context of early twentieth century European, and welfare institutions and social policies of the major European states.
