This course focuses on attitudes and social behavior. The aim is to provide students with a good understanding of the major theories and research trends on this topic. Specifically, the course will address the following themes.
1) Subjective and organizational relational well being in the workplace.
2) relational competence at work;
3) attitudes and opinions.
The principles and processes underlying a target’s susceptibility to outside influences will be considered in light of three goals fundamental to rewarding human functioning. Specifically, targets are motivated to form accurate perceptions of reality and react accordingly, to develop and preserve meaningful social relationships, and to maintain a favorable self-concept.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will be able
• to understand and recognize how attitudes and opinions regulate interpersonal relationships in an organizational context;
• to understand and distinguish attitudes and opinions;
• to understand how adult attachment styles affect social behavior in dyadic and small group contexts and its perception;
• to understand how explicit vs. implicit norms and variables of individual difference can negatively affect social interaction at work and in domestic context;
This course focuses on attitudes and social behavior. The aim of the first section (Prof. Berlanda, 2CFU, 12 hours)
is to provide students with a good understanding of the major theories and research trends on this topic. Specifically, the course will address the following themes.
1) Attitudes and opinions
2) definition and structure;
3) Research methods;
4) attitudes and behavior.
The second section of this course (Prof. Pedrazza, 4 CFU, 24 hours)
is devoted to following themes:
1) Subjective and organizational relational well being in the workplace.
2) adult attachment style;
3) relational wellbeing at work.

For non-attending students, the exam will consist of a written examination. Students are required to know the presented theoretical constructs, as well as to interpret interpersonal and organizational behavior according to the theories and concepts included in the syllabus.
The written examination consists of five questions. Each answer allows students to get from 0/30 up to 6/30.
The student’s written work according to the following criteria:
- Language appropriateness
- Answer’s coherence with the posed questions
- Student’s ability to synthesize
- The answer is not redundant
- Use of scientific terminology, appropriate to treated concepts and issues
For attending students the exam will consist of a written examination
Students are required to know the presented theoretical constructs, as well as to interpret interpersonal and organizational behavior according to the theories and concepts included in the syllabus.
The written examination consists of 4 questions. Each answer allows students to get from 0 up to 7,5 points + 1 point for individual or group assignments.
The student’s written work according to the following criteria:
