Participants:
- will develop their knowledge of the main pedagogical theories concerning the school, its social and political function and put in dialogue these theories and models with some nodes of the current debate on school;
- will build the essential historical and theoretical references for a pedagogical understanding of the school’s relationship with society;
- will have the key elements for analyzing public discourse on school, taking into account the perspectives of research, policy-making, and media.
Each of the topics will refer to one or more selected papers (articles, book chapters) that participants will be able to download from the Moodle platform.
There are two different forms of evaluation.
1. Written test including multiple choice and open ended questions, evaluating knowledge and understanding of the texts.
2. Participants who attend the classroom activities can choose a different exam based on a writing activity using the texts and the analytical skills acquired during the classes.
