Chiara Sità is associate professor in Education at the Departmen of Human Sciences. Her research is focused on the relationship between professionals and parents in parent support services and school. The encounter between these actors is explored as a context of social practice that contributes to parental identity negotiation, in connection with cultural models of parenting, through different actions (such as information, counseling, training, group conversation).
Her research topics are: parent support; the involvement of families of origin in child protection and foster care; the construction of parenting in parent-toddler playgroups; LGBT parents and parental identity construction in the social sphere.
