The Erasmus+ 2022 KA Switchoff project focuses on improving worker well-being during remote work, with a particular focus on the need for disconnection from work to facilitate physical and mental recovery. This project was born out of the realization that remote work, while offering many benefits, can lead to significant challenges in terms of time management and personal resources, with the risk of burnout and other stress-related health problems.

The main goal of the project is to raise awareness among managers, human resource professionals and remote workers about the importance of recovery from work and to improve their ability to disconnect effectively. Through the development of appropriate policies and practices, it aims to create a healthier and more productive work environment. The project aims to prevent burnout in remote workers and reduce the negative effects of insufficient recovery, while providing the necessary skills for human resource professionals and managers to adequately support their teams.

The international consortium participating in the project will develop a toolkit called SwitchOff, which will include guidelines, best practices and practical tools to facilitate disconnection from work. This toolkit will be accompanied by a training program for HR professionals and managers, as well as an interactive e-learning platform that will offer courses and self-assessment materials for remote workers. The e-learning platform will be designed to be accessible and easy to use, ensuring that content can be enjoyed by a wide range of users.

The main activities of the project include analyzing the needs of remote workers and their employers, developing and promoting the SwitchOff toolkit, and organizing training events for Vocational Education and Training (VET) trainers. These training events will aim to train trainers who, in turn, will be able to disseminate the acquired skills within their organizations. In addition, ongoing evaluation of the training materials and e-learning platform will be conducted to ensure their effectiveness and relevance.

The project will actively involve at least 180 remote workers and 120 human resource professionals/VET trainers in SwitchOff implementation activities. In addition, six dissemination events will be organized to promote the project results and inform more than 10,000 stakeholders at the European level. These events will have the dual purpose of raising awareness of the benefits of disconnection from work and disseminating the best practices developed during the project.

The project will adopt a methodology that integrates digital tools and innovative practices to facilitate the disconnection and recovery of remote workers, while promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices at all stages of the project. The project approach is based on collaboration and knowledge sharing among partners, ensuring that the solutions developed are applicable in different work and cultural contexts. So, the Switchoff project is an important initiative to address the challenges of remote work by promoting worker well-being and sustainable work management practices.
