The course aims at introducing some of the main issues of contemporary History of philosophy in relation to the monographic subject.
Contents of the course: MARÍA ZAMBRANO. A MOTHERLY REASON.
The course aims at analysing M. Zambrano’s philosophical thought. Zambrano departs from her master Ortega y Gasset: she elaborates concepts like: motherly reason and political reason and her thought is perceived as feminine and motherly, as well as a thought which pays attention to discordance, tolerance and difference. The course will analyse the main part of Zambrano’s work in relation to three subjects: philosophy as a practice of self-transformation, the connection with the Devine and a comparison with sexual difference.
