Learning outcomes

The aim of the corse is to introduce the critic and storic comprhension of the fundemental elements of theatre literature and practice.


Contents of the course : The actor in the twentieth century theatre: theories, utopias, practice, examples. The course aims at giving a synthetic view on the actor’s figure during the XXth century, after a panoramic on the XIXth century’s acting tradition. Because of this, the course will concentrate on Stanislavskij, Gordon Craig, Mejerchol’d, Artaud, Brecht, Grotowski, Barba, Bene, Fo.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written test (4 open questions).
