Curriculum

Massimo Prearo is currently post-doctoral researcher at the Research Centre PoliTeSse of the University of Verona, where he is studying the anti-gender movements.

As Marie Curie Fellow (2013-2015), he has studied the raise of the Italian LGBT activism in Italy. He has edited the book Politiche dell'orgoglio. Sessualità, soggettività e movimenti sociali (Edizioni ETS, Pisa 2015) and published the results of this research as a monography: La fabbrica dell'orgoglio. Una genealogia dei movimenti LGBT (Edizioni ETS, Pisa 2015).

He holds a PhD in Political Studies from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.His dissertation examined the emergence of the LGBT movement in France and will be published as Le moment politique de l'homosexualité. Mouvements, identités et communautés en France, PUL, 2014.

He was also Editor (2010-2018) of the academic electronic journal Genre, sexualité & société: gss.revues.org, co-director of the book series àltera / politiche e teorie della sessualità at Edizioni ETS and scientific coordinator of PoliTeSse.
