Multimedia and information technologies may have a key rule both in CBT and experimental psychologists, and in professional trainers.
Thus, the target of the lessons is not to teach the basic knowledge concerning computer science without taking into account the professional future of students, but to teach the elements and applications of computer science relevant to their future profession.
Therefore, the course is aimed to:
1. Introduce the basic theoretical concepts of multimedia and computer science
2. Focus on Social Networks and their possibilities, both in the advertising and in the training field
3. Introduce the e-Learning systems. How to plan a course
4. Introduce the softwares of common use among the experimental psychologists
5. Introduce the theoretical and practical aspects of Virtual Reality
6. Introduce the use of Virtual Reality in CBT psychotherapy
Textbooks:
- the slides downloadable from the e-Learning platform
- during the course some optional textbooks will be presented, which contents will not in the exam
The course will start in introducing the basis of computer science and multimedia for the students. It will start from the origins of Computer Science, with the Turing's Machine, through Internet, to the Social Networks and Virtual Reality.
In the second part the course will focus in the applications of Computer Science for trainers. In particular we will focus into the Moodle and eXeLearining frameworks.
The third part of the course will focus on computer science and virtual reality tools for CBT and experimental psychology. In the experimental psychology we will introduce softwares to manage experiments, such as ePrime and PsychoPy. For CBT psychology, some cases of studies will be showed, where the Virtual Reality has been used as therapy tool for mental diseases.
