Learning outcomes

Knowledge of Medieval philosophy in its historical development (V-XVI) and its complexity (logical, metaphysical, theological, ethical, aethetical, political, phisical).

Syllabus

Contents of the course: Metaphysics of light in Medieval aesthetics. Introduction of the fundamentals of Medieval Latin thought followed by the study of the philosophical-theological meaning of light, in relation to the aesthetic perspective of Gothic architecture.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written test concerning the preliminary part (text: AA.VV., Medieval Philosophy), integrated by an interview concerning the rest of the hand-books.
