knowledge of the history of medieval philosophy in its historical development (5-14th centuries) and thematic complexity (logics, metaphysics, ethics, theology, aesthetics etc..)
Contents of the course: issues of medieval ethics (from Augustine to Anselm). The first part of the course will deal with a general overview of the history of the medieval thought (Latin, Jewish, Islamic); the second part will focus on the main authors from the 5th to the 11th century (Augustine, Boethius, Anselm).
written test about the first general part; oral discussion of the second monographic part.
