The course will offer a comparison between the processes of formation, and the construction of identity in different societies, trying to identify and compare the myths and rituals on which they are based.
Course participants will be invited to question themselves about how instructional models are able to create a connection between individual issues and social dimension, managing oneself and others, care practices and lifestyle, social, ethnic, religious and cultural differences.
Each student, within a small group first, and in relation to other groups, after, will have to learn how to build a space of interaction in which to test concrete techniques and methods of training and care between people, groups and communities.
The course will include the following elements:
lectures and seminars
constitution and experience of working and studying in small groups (4-6 students)
exercises for research methods: stories and screenplays construction
presentation of work, research, and individual and collective experiences
preparation of a mid-term performance and final group essay
drafting of a 'diary path' outlining individual and group's work
selection and organization of own work for a website
INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES AND IDENTITY BUILDING
1) Transmission of knowledge and instructional models.
To form and develop: transformation of oneself and others. Successes and failures in instructional practices.
2) Geopolitics of identity between training, therapy and politics of terror
Identity, self-images and creation of new belongings.
Terror, trauma and changed lives: acting on the body to capture the soul.
Wars and collective violence: forming terrorists, nursing the victims.
The student's assessment will take place throughout the duration of the course and it will be implemented through a programmed experimentation of:
self-assessment of written textes and individual and group works
identification of qualitative methods of assessment and assessment of learning, readings, teaching model and of the organization of the course
