The course in Industrial Relations Law aims to deepen the topic of trade unions dialogue, namely the interaction between different social parties in the national and European system, in the public and in the private sector. It will focus on the identification of social partners and of the processes they are involved in.
The course aims to offer the students a complete grounding of current labour law, the perception of the social dynamics that foster this branch of law, the capacity to connect and use the (European, national, local) normative instruments related to education and learning.
The course is divided in three different parts:
- Historical development and concepts of trade union law: evolution of the Italian trade union system, concepts of pluralism and collective autonomy, relationship between eteronomous and autonomous sources.
- The actors of the trade union system: organizational structure of inter-professional trade unions, representatives in the work-place, levels of collective bargaining.
- Action and activity of trade union law subjects: trade union freedoms in the work-places, collective bargaining as a regulative source, the question of subjective effectivity, collective bargaining in the public sector, the collective conflict.

Non-attendant students can take the examination only in the oral mode. Attendant students can choose either the written or the oral mode. The written test for attendant students will consist of questions with multiple answers and questions with open answers. It will be arranged at the end of the lessons.
