Learning outcomes

Provide knowledge on basic concepts of the discipline (such as, for example, culture, identity, ethnicity, multiculturalism, assimilation, acculturation, integration, etc..). Develop a critical approach to our knowledge and openness to knowledge of the Other. A reflection on the space / places and people who live there, the city as a "work" group.

Syllabus

The course is divided into two parts: the first will address concepts and basics anthropological approach, such as culture, ethnicity, multiculturalism, assimilation, integration, etc. ethnocentrism. The second part is dedicated to the city, will face texts and ethnographies that talk about people, places, and practices in order to provide food for thought on the "management" of the richness and diversity as a foundation of urban life, the co-production of the city, perception and transformation of an urban place.
