Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide some knowledge on fiscal and monetary policy in the European Monetary Union.

Syllabus

Introduction to Economic Policy.
Costs and benefits of a monetary union.
The European Monetary System. The path towards the European Monetary Union, the Maastricht criteria.
The ECB and monetary policy in the eurozone.
Fiscal policy in the European Monetary Union. The new tools.

Assessment methods and criteria

The examination procedures, assessment criteria, and grading system, between written and oral examination, are established by law under the Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) of August 4, 2023.
