The laboratory course represents the empirical and applicative part of macroeconomics lectures. Its aim is to explore statistical sources at both the Italian and international levels, from which national accounting data are derived. Finally, using computers, students will select some of these variables to build their own dataset and generate graphs that reveal interesting relationships.
The laboratory course covers the following topics:
1. Data on wealth and its alternatives
2. Use of the World Bank’s WDI dataset
3. Building a personal dataset by exporting variables from the WDI
4. Data cleaning, organization, and creation of the graphs discussed in class using Excel
5. Verifying the relationships obtained against those presented during the course
The examination procedures, assessment criteria, and grading system, between written and oral examination, are established by law under the Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) of August 4, 2023.
