SPS/08 - SOCIOLOGY OF CULTURE AND COMMUNICATION

Learning outcomes

The first aims of course is introduction to the subject of the relationship between the individual and society in the modern complex societies in which the risk appears as a fundamental interpretive figure.
Second aims: the globalization. Will be work specific concrete examples related to current events. In this sense, we will be favoured forms of interaction with the student in order to foster the development of critical thinking of the issues dealt.
After the course , the student will have the conceptual and empirical tools to describe and analyse the main processes of change in contemporary society such as globalization, the interrelationship of social and cultural processes relations.

Program

The contents of the course will concern:
- An initial alignment with the sociological study of reality to identify its peculiarities with attention to other approaches in the field of education sciences;
- The study of the evolution of the "social phenomenon" along the timeline that runs from pre-modernity, to modernity, to advanced modernity.
- The study of the structures and the main social dynamics in the context of advanced modernity.
- The study of globalization processes, with particular reference to a cultural perspective.

Examination Methods

Two alternative assessment methods are proposed, among which the student can choose.

1. "Traditional" mode:
- Production of a written text on open questions starting from the recommended texts.

2. "Step" mode:
- first step: production of a written text starting from the reflection and personal re-elaboration of the contents proposed in the classroom (in itinere);
- second step: production of a written work and a multimedia production to be presented publicly in the classroom on occasions dedicated to a topic related to the sociology of culture and which do not directly form the curricular contents of the course;
- third step: oral examination on specific parts of the program.

In both cases, the final evaluation derives from the average of the results obtained in each test.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Stage e Tirocini

Le ulteriori attività formative (crediti F) sono interamente coperte dall’attività di tirocinio “indiretto” (1 cfu) da svolgersi nel secondo anno e di tirocinio “diretto” (14 cfu) da svolgersi presso enti convenzionati per un numero complessivo di 15 cfu (375 ore). Chi è iscritta/o al curriculum servizi per l’infanzia è tenuta/o a svolgere il tirocinio presso nidi e servizi per la prima infanzia per almeno il 50% delle ore.
Il tirocinio professionalizzante (375 ore, pari a 15 cfu), è obbligatorio sia nella sua forma diretta che indiretta.
Il tirocinio indiretto, della durata di 25 ore a frequenza obbligatoria al 75%, si svolge in Università per 20 ore e in forma di lavoro individuale per 5 ore e consiste in un accompagnamento iniziale delle/degli studenti da parte dei tutor attraverso un percorso formativo dotandoli di conoscenze e strumenti adeguati a osservare, comprendere e rielaborare criticamente l’esperienza di tirocinio nei servizi educativi e ad affrontare il tirocinio negli enti con metodo e consapevolezza. Il percorso, da attuare in gruppi da 20-25 persone sotto la supervisione di un tutor, risponde alle esigenze costantemente espresse sia dalle/dagli studenti stessi sia dalle parti sociali che dai referenti degli enti convenzionati.
Il tirocinio diretto si propone di raggiungere i seguenti obiettivi:

  • fare esperienza diretta di attività professionali, che richiedono un livello di preparazione al lavoro educativo;
  • approfondire in particolare il rapporto tra preparazione teorica, acquisita mediante lo studio, ed esperienza pratica, tra mondo del sapere e della cultura e mondo del lavoro e delle professioni;

Al termine del tirocinio diretto lo studente deve presentare una relazione scritta, nella modalità concordata con il tutor accademico.
