Learning outcomes

Workshop on Ethics and Psychanalysis Knowledge Knowledge of the theories and practices of care from antiquity to the present. Abilities 1) Comparing peculiar aspects of the thought of the past with topics and authors of the present; 2) Expressing personal views on the origin, nature and meaning of the main topics of the course.

The workshop will address the idea of ethics in the light of the contribution of psychoanalysis, which is in many ways questioning the philosophical tradition, or rediscovering something philosophical tradition already formulated in its own terms. We will address in particular the fundamental discovery psychoanalysis always claimed: the subject would not be “master in its own house”. What could ethics become, in the light of this hypothesis?
