Learning outcomes

The course is centered on providing students with the knowledge necessary to professionally project and conduct social work interventions. Particular attention will be given to the methodological features of the support process and the needs assessment as well as the targets setting aspects will be explored more in detail.

Syllabus

The course is divided into two parts. A first theoretical part, and a second part of the "exercises" in which it will be possible to apply what has been learned during the course.

In the theoretical part the teaching will focus on the following topics:
• Theory, method, methodological procedures, tools: definition and analysis
• The methodological procedure of the social service: description/ phases of development
• The professional help relationship: aims and characteristics
• The main intervention tools of social service: interview, home visit, documentation.

As far as the "exercises" are concerned, the contents provided in the first part of the course will be applied in the classroom through case studies and with the use of analytical grids provided by the teacher.

Regarding the didactic modalities, the teaching foresees lectures on the theoretical part, integrated by presentation of cases, discussion in the classroom of individual and group work.
