Learning outcomes

Starting from some assumptions about the nature of practical knowledge, the epistemological value of the point of view of practitioners, the training as a reflective accompaniment to the putting in words of experiential knowledge and narrative as a fundamental resource for training, the course aims to let experiment some concrete operational models for an experience-based training.

At the end of the course, the students who have followed the proposed activities will be able to
- knowing and understanding, in their main lines, the theoretical assumptions of an experiential approach to formation;
- analyzing the characteristics and phases of such approaches;
- applying the analyzed approaches to concrete, real or simulated, learning contexts;
- reflecting on the course by developing awareness of the implemented learning processes.

Syllabus

The main contents will be the following:
- The nature of practical knowledge
- The transformative value of formation
- The formative and transformative value of narrative
- The relationship between training and research
- Operational models of experience-based training.

Assessment methods and criteria

Test with questions about content knowledge.
Oral exam with questions of understanding and meta-reflection on the course, starting from a reflective journal.
The criteria will be published in the course syllabus a week before the start of the course.
