Students attending the Laboratory of Body and Disability will acquire the knowledge and skills to approach disability from a new point of view. In particular, the course will focus on bodily aspects, which can influence persons and disability.
At the end of the course, the student will have an in-depth knowledge of the Embodied Cognition Theory and its applications. S/he will have taken part to experiences that will show how the body interacts with dementias, autism and spinal cord injuries.
S/he will have the possibilty to attend virtual reality experiences focusing, in particular, on its interaction with the body.
The activities will include frontal lessons, group works, motor and virtual reality experiences, in order to develop a knowledge and an experiential corpus.

- Embodied Cognition Theory
- Body and Autism
- Body and Spinal cord injuries
- Body and dementia
- Virtual reality as a tool for the body and disability

The assessment will be made on the written reports and participation of the students made during the course.
