To acquire introductory knowledge of socio-cultural anthropology (main contents, debates, methods and ethical issues; to acquire introductory knowledge of international migration anthropology.
Several anthropological topics will be discussed, from the most classic (such as the concept of culture, the ethnographic method, cosmology, political and economic organisations) to the most currently under debate (like the cultural effects of globalisation and multi-culturalism). Part of the course will deal will a more detailed analysis of the anthropology of migration and of Romanian Roma migration.
