Learning outcomes

Module: Laboratorio
-------
The course aims to revisiting and acquisition of mathematical concepts and content referenced by
the “National Guidelines of Primary School” in the perspective of practice teaching.

Module: Matematica per la formazione di base 2
-------
Course aims:
the purpose of the course is to approach the coming primary school teachers with the tools developed by the research in mathematics education and with the developments and applications of mathematics in the real life, to be able to analyze classroom situations, to be able to act in appropriate technical and verbal way, to have the basic knowledge of mathematics, extending what they learned in the course “ Matematica per la formazione di base 1”.

Syllabus

Module: Laboratorio
-------

First lesson: RELATIONS, DATA AND PREVISIONS

Object of investigation: one of the below mentioned topics:

- Month of birth
- Height
- Favourite sport
- Frequented secondary school
- Favorite beverage
- Number of shoes

Sample of investigation: all laboratory students

Collection, tabulation and representation of data, reading of the graph, plenary presentation of the done work

Research, in pairs, of the development goals of skills at the end of kindergarten and primary school and of the learning objectives. Realization of a “two-slides” PPT that tells the activity and its connection with the indications from “Curricolo 2012”

Second lesson: SOLIDS, FORMS / GEOMETRIC FIGURES

a) Pictures of solid objects from the real world
From pictures of objects / elements of reality to the construction of the corresponding solids with cardboard and / or “easy to find” materials
Solids from different points of view

b) Forms / Geometric figures
Classification of solids in polyhedra and not-polyhedra

Outline drawing of the expansion on a sheet
Faces printing of the boxes with “tempera” colors
Covering of the plane through the forms / figures

Third lesson: RELATIONS, DATA, PREVISIONS, SOLIDS, FORMS / GEOMETRIC FIGURES

Reflections on the issues considered in the two laboratory meetings and their connection with the theory discussed in class with the guidance of the teacher; presentation of PPTs of the groups
