Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge and skills that allow planning and teaching physical education with the students of the Primary School.

Students will learn:
The characteristics of their own motor skills and their attitudes towards the physical experience;
The main contents for the training of motor abilities and physical capacities.
The peculiarities of physical education teaching with children of primary school;

Students will be able to produce training plans to modify their own motor skills and operational programming of modules, units of teaching, learning units, lessons for Physical Education.


The methodological approach / teaching to the different situations of movement will be analyzed in detail. Attention will be given, also, to the analysis of the content of the physical activity and at the programming of educational courses, teaching units and simulation of cases.

The main topics will be:
Training principles of movement capacities: type - intensity - duration - frequency
Methodological approaches to the teaching and learning of motor skills
Measures of motor skills and movement capacities
Experience of teaching and learning in the field of basic motor skills, basic artistic gymnastic, group games and team sport

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment is divided into three parts: the first is a short multiple choice questionnaire (about ten minutes). Those who will pass the test, immediately after, will have one hour to prepare a scheme of instructional design dedicated to a physical education objective. The instructional design will be object of the final interview together with the general knowledges about the course. All parts of the assessment will take place consecutively.
