Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge about epistemological keys point of Physical education with the children of the Primary School

Students will known basic epistemological keys point and they will be able to produce educational programming of Physical education for primary school;

Syllabus

The main motor control theories and the principles of Physical education teaching will be analized.

The topics will be:
Definitions and terminology in the fields of physical activity.
The role of subjective experience of body and movement for the teachers.
The role of movement in the children experience. The functions: praxic - adaptive - preventive – expressive.
Motor learning.
Typologies of movement: endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, speed and coordination
Training principles of movement capacities: type - intensity - duration - frequency
The teaching of motor skills. Methodological approaches to the teaching and learning of motor skills
The design and programming of physical activity in primary school
Adapted physical activity
The evaluation in Physical Education

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment is divided into three parts: the first is a short multiple choice questionnaire (about ten minutes). Those who will pass the test, immediately after, will have one hour to prepare a scheme of instructional design dedicated to a physical education objective. The instructional design will be object of the final interview together with the general knowledges about the course. All parts of the assessment will take place consecutively.
