The course aims to enable the participants to catch the meaning of the historical research in pedagogy field, through the knowledge of significant authors not only of the modern and contemporary ages, but also of the classical and medieval ones. The course also aims to collaborate in providing the participants with planning perspectives and mind-set in educational activities.
The main pedagogic conception will be analyzed, in particular the ones belonging to Western culture, from classical to contemporary age, with an in-depth examination of the authors of the two last centuries. Particular attention will be paid to the formative experience and the pedagogic thought of Maria Montessori and Lorenzo Milani.
Oral exam. Students who will attend at least two third of the lectures will have the chance to choose in part different books, presenting them in seminars during the course.
