Learning outcomes

The course aims at proposing the concept of intercultural communication as a merge of subjects regarding communication, culture, pedagogy and multicultural societies.
Globalization and the global diffusion of mass media seems to carry out the Global Village that Mc Luhan supposed in 1964, but if on one hand languages tend to validate it, on the other thinking that cultural differences (like values, perception of time and space, organization and social roles) will be canceled is an illusion. Therefore living in a multicultural society means that becoming more conscious of the differences which form it, the development of competences in order to work and implant social relations in educational, productive and communicational systems that are made for a more multiethnic and multicultural public becomes necessary.
Thinking about people who is assigned to work in a multicultural society, in this course intercultural communication will be strongly investigated both on a theoretical and operational level.
