Learning outcomes

Learning disabilities are a very heterogeneous group of disorders (linguistic, attentional, related to literacy, numeracy and to social behaviour) which the field of psychology has paid close attention to. The early identification and assessment of these disorders allows educators, teachers and clinicians to design educational programmes suitable to LD children which allow them to pursue schooling with success and to learn the abilities which are functional to his/her integration in social and work situations (reading, writing, mathematical skills, problem solving, etc.). The course is aimed at introducing students to learning disabilities and illustrating the most recent techniques of diagnosis, assessment and intervention developed in research and clinical contexts.
