Social Service Methods and Techniques I (2007/2008)

Learning outcomes

The course proposes him to furnish knowledges to the students for the understanding of the methodology of intervention of the Social Work in its historical development and in its actual definition of unitary and global approach to the needs of the consumers and the territory. You proposes besides to furnish knowledges and tools for the acquisition of methods and techniques for the direct job with the use, keeping in mind of the functions developed by the social work in the actual cultural and institutional context. The Course articulates in two parts.

1) evolution of the job of the social works in relationship to the evolution of the institutional picture and the new individual and collective needs.
Role, functions, activity and tools of the social work as they emerge from the analysis of the results of some searches conducted in Italy in the last years.

2) methodology of the Social Work for the direct job with the persons:
The analysis and the evaluation of the question;
The taking in load and the psico-social evaluation;
The construction of the project of intervention;
The evaluation of the interventions and the process of help;
The relationship of help, characteristics that favor the auto-realization of the client;
The interview in the Social Work: objectives and formality of management;
The first interview, purposes and characteristics;
The process of intervention of the Social Work in family contexts multiproblematici.

The examination will consist in a written test and an oral.
