Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

1.To identify the main factors of working risks, especially in the precincts health
2.To know the principal rules controlling the health protection in the place of work and the concept of work suitability
3.To know the main forms of health supervision: preventive and periodical doctor’s visit for workmanship with specific risks; use of individual and collective informative tools, knowledge of the principal individual protection system.
4.To know the principles of environment prevention of working risks in the health profession;
to identify the human sciences trainer role in the education for prevention and health promotion.
5.To collaborate with the health professional people for formulating interventions of prevention and promotion of the working health.

Syllabus

Part 1 : general
Man- health and illness: human sciences and biomedical sciences and the human health
Bio and biomedical model – psychosocial of clinical medicine and public health
Historical evolution of illness prevention in the working places during the XX century
Work and promotion of health and prevention of illness: the social illnesses.
To define the danger and the risk, evaluation and measure of the working risks, security limits, professional illnesses, primary, secondary, tertiary prevention.
Generality about working risks factors: chemical, physical, biological, allergological, cancer producing risks.
The industrial toxicology
Toxic-kinetics and toxic-dynamics of the industrial toxics
Part 2 : special
Analysis of the main working risks especially in the health field: infectious risk; by drugs; by inhalation anaesthetics; by detergents, disinfectants and sterilization; by chemical substances and infective in the laboratory of analysis; by hospital waste; dermatologic; allergological; genotoxic; by ionizing radiation; by no-ionizing radiation; by noise; by vibrations; by posture and weight lifting; by an hard vision stress; by work at shift, by stress.
Part 3: ethical- social
Main rules controlling the health protection in the place of work: Italian Republic Constitution; scale of professional illness (DPR N. 336, 13.4.1994); general rules relevant to the working hygiene (DPR n.303,19.3:1956), DLL 15.8.1991, n.277;DLL 19.9.1994, n. 626.
Civil invalidity: Generality, law 5th February 1992 n. 104”Law-table for assistance, social integration and the rights for handicapped persons”, obligatory job for handicapped persons: Law 12 march 1999, n.68: rules concerning the right to a job for disabled (G.U. n 68 23rd March 1999) and regulations of executions (DPR 10 October 2000 n. 333) in G.U. n 270 18th November 2000); defence of sight disabled persons.
INAIL and assurance against accidents at work and the professional illnesses.
Principles relevant the reproductive health of working woman.
Ethical aspects of the prevention of the working risks.
