Obiettivi formativi
The seminar will provide an overview of different types of experimental research designs in psychology, including experimental and quasi-experimental, between-subjects, within-subjects, and mixed designs.
Specifically, the course will cover the following topics:
- Types of validity
- Lab vs. field research
- Experimental designs: causality, the logic of experiments, threats to internal validity
- Quasi-experimental designs: causal inference, threats to internal validity, controlling for order of treatment conditions
The advantages and disadvantages of each research design will be discussed.
