Learning outcomes

Training the future teacher to read critically the phenomena of the past is an important resource for the self-planning the lessons and must combine
-the achievement of knowledge;
-the acquisition of a historical method of understanding.
At the end of the lessons students are enabled to acquire a critical method of historical interpretation.

Syllabus

-A presentation of crucial ages and issues in ancient Greek Mediterranean history, from the interethnic, social, geographical and cultural perspective in the broadest sense.
-Methodological aspects in historical knowledge and methodological approaches in transfer of knowledge into teaching practice.
-Reading with comments of texts, ancient and modern, useful to train the future teachers to grasp the problems of understanding and reconstructing historical contexts.
-Some care is devoted to addressing the future teachers to the best and up to date editorial resources.

Assessment methods and criteria

Final test – jointly with the course of Storia antica e medievale – concerning historical knowledge and teaching methods.
