Learning outcomes

Learning purpose: The course aims at a critical analysis of the cultural identity claim movements, with the
aim to put out elements of similarity and differences with the struggles for recognition. Although the
movements of defense of cultural identities can be traced within the wider riverbed of struggles for
recognition, the different articulation between individual rights and collective rights is the hallmark

Syllabus

Course programme: From the "struggles for recognition" can be a first step to open a reflection on
the sense of belonging, of rootedness in the late modern society. In the cultural debate, it emerges
the centrality of the concept of community, rooted in a world of life, rather than space is relational
and oriented according to the direction, in which the differences more than balance out and
confused tend to identify.
During the course will be presented the most relevant theories on justice, equality, diversity, the
concept of dignity and decent life
