Learning outcomes

The course enables students to develop knowledge on educational research, by exploring its potential and main epistemological issues. It also aims to develop knowledge about basic qualitative research methods in education and to promote skills in phenomenological interview.

Syllabus

Moving from a perspective defining educational research as a process which aims at constructing practical knowledge based on rigorous method, the students are introduced to the inquiry methods and procedures, in order to learn to analyze research processes and methodological issues through examination of research reports in education. In the second part of the course, the students will be introduced to the interview technique through a practical training.
