The course aims at (a) providing the students with the basic concepts concerning epistemological and hermeneutical reflections on qualitative analysis in Anthropology and (b) setting the background for ethnographic methodologies.
Starting from the concept of ethnographic experience, we will study the analogical, monological, and textual mechanisms that come into being in the development of anthropological knowledge. Specifically, we will deal with the study of ethnography of senses (viewed also as a qualifying moment in the construction of a hypothetical project on the education to the body-environment relationship). Attending students will be given the opportunity to develop individual or group-based ethnographic studies, which will be prepared, guided, and discussed during the course.
