The aim of the corse is to provide a general knowledge about the history of modern cinema and an aesthetic and linguistic method of analysis.
Contents of the course : The image in the mirror. Ingmar Bergman’s cinema.
After a general introduction to the history of cinema, the course concentrates on the analysis of Ingmar Bergman’s work with particular attention to subjects (God’s absence, emptiness, sufferance) and forms (foreground, duration search, the work on colour).
Oral interview in which the student must prove the ability at connecting authors, subjects and paths of the history of cinema.
NOTE: Students that attended the course in the previous academic years can take the relevant programme (Do not send e-mails concerning this issue and simply follow indications).
