To provide introductory knowledge of general anthropology in terms of the contents, the main debates in the history of the discipline, the methods and ethical issues; to especially provide introductory knowledge to international migration.
Several anthropological topics will be discussed, from the most classic (such as the concept of culture, the ethnographic method, cosmology, political and economic organisations) to the most currently under debate (like the cultural effects of globalisation and multi-culturalism). Part of the course will deal will a more detailed analysis of the anthropology of migration and of Romanian Roma migration.
