Teaching
The Department of Human Sciences runs degree programmes in four main areas: philosophy, pedagogy, psychology and sociology. Each area offers a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree.The Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy gives students a general overview of the history and theories of philosophy. In the Master’s degree, students develop an original project in contemporary philosophy.
The Bachelor’s degree in Education (pedagogy area) prepares students for various aspects of education work such as immigration, deviation, early childhood and third and fourth age learning. In the Master’s degree, students develop their research skills, honed by training in the workplace.
The Bachelor’s degree in Organisational Training (psychology area) prepares students to train adults in workplace settings.
The Master’s degree develops students’ skills in planning, executing and evaluating training operations.
The Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (sociology area), which allows graduates to enter the national register of social workers (register B), prepares students for the prevention and conflict of social hardship and includes work experience in public and private institutions. The Master’s degree prepares students for management, supervision and consulting in social work and includes workplace training. Graduates are then permitted to enter the national register of social workers (register A).
The Department of Human Sciences also runs a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, which qualifies graduates to teach at pre-school and primary school levels.
In addition, the Department offers postgraduate Advanced Courses and Professional Master programmes.
